Deputy James D. Pope 

Deputy Pope began his career with the Department of Corrections in Capron, Va. in 1982; in 1999 he joined the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office and worked in the Jail and Jail Farm.  He was appointed to assistant supervisor in 2001.  Deputy Pope came to the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office in July 2007 and was assigned to the Courts and Civil Process Division. 

 Deputy Pope has attended several classes at Hampton Roads Criminal Justice School and attained his General Instructor Certificate.  He enjoys playing golf and fishing.
