Lieutenant Robert M. Fox
Lieutenant Fox serves as a patrol commander for the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office. He began his law enforcement career in the United States Navy as a Military Police Officer, Harbor Patrol Officer, and Customs Inspector. As a Chief Petty Officer, he served as a physical security specialist and anti-terrorism coordinator as well as a Small Arms Marksmanship Instructor before leaving active duty after 20 years of service. Lieutenant Fox spent 8 years with the Smithfield Police Department, promoting to the rank of sergeant.
He held several collateral duties including grants specialist and commander of the Marine Patrol Unit. Lieutenant Fox resides in Smithfield and takes great pride in assisting and helping all Isle of Wight County residents. He is married and enjoys motorcycling, fishing, boating, and hiking in his spare time.
