Lieutenant Pope began his career in law enforcement in 2004 with the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office.  Prior to that he volunteered 6 years as a law enforcement explorer with the Suffolk Police Department.  He is currently assigned as a Uniformed Patrol commander.  Lieutenant Pope also serves as the law enforcement liaison to the Office of Emergency Management for Isle of Wight County. 

Growing up in Henrico County, Lieutenant Pope moved to the Chuckatuck area of Suffolk in 1996.  He has studied criminal justice at Virginia Commonwealth University.  Being a resident of the community that he has the opportunity of serving is important to him.  Lieutenant Pope is married and he, his wife and their German Shepard reside in Isle of Wight County.
